Lake Erie Fishing
Bass & Walleye Charters
The North East corner of Lake Erie also known as the Lake Erie Eastern Basin at the shore of Buffalo NY. Shallowest of the Great Lakes, that is a excellent numbers fishery of Smallmouth Bass and Walleye.
Trophy Smallmouth Bass
The finest Smallmouth Bass fishing in the world with a premier Bass Guide of Western New York. With our Bass Charter you can expect 20 to 30 of these bronze brawlers a day, with much better days common. These fish average 3 1/2 to 4 pounds, with 5 to 6+ pound Trophy Smallmouth Bass common in May & June.
I had a client catch a 7 pound 13 ounce Monster Smallmouth Bass in 2007. The N.Y.D.E.C. says there are still others out there bigger than the state record of 8.4 pounds from their electro-shocking and net sampling analysis! After the Best May I've ever had this spring with 95 Smallies over 5#'s and 20 of those Monsters going over 6#'s! I predict the State Record will be shattered several times in the next couple of years! Barring any major die offs from winter kill, lake roll overs, VHS disease or a Botulism outbreak.
Join in on the FUN
The summer bass fishing is even better for those who want numbers of fish. This is a great time to bring kids or novice anglers to make sure they stay busy learning to how to catch lots of excellent fighters. 30-50 fish days are common. NY DEC's description.
The Walleye fishing is equally excellent on Lake Erie from June to October for eater size fish. 17" to 24", in the 2 to 4 pound range from the fantastic 2012 & 2013 spawns as well as the 2015 & 2016 spawn, one of the best in history with a bunch of 13" to 15" Walleyes coming up. There are still some Big Eyes in the 5 to 8 pounds with a real shot at a 10+ pound Trophy Eye.
Fishing is either "hands-on" by drifting/power trolling with electric motor to present live bait & spinner/worm harnesses where you'll feel the bite, have to set the hook and fight the fish until I net them at the boat for you or open water trolling if we have to find the roving schools of hungry Lake Erie Walleye.
A Lake Erie Eye Opener!
Active Excursion Time
This fishing is usually an early bite. Although sometimes it goes all day on overcast or rough water days. Then after your limit or what you want for dinner, we go after Smallies to finish out the day.
Another Option in Yellow Perch
There are Jumbo Yellow Perch available in combination with any Bass or Walleye trip. These are a great eating fish and some are the biggest in the country, averaging 10" to 13" about a 1 to 1 1/4 pounds with some going to 15" and over 2 pounds!
